Dr. Kevin Gaw, Executive Director of the Amica Center for Career Education, is an advocate for student success and makes himself available to Bryant students for consultations and work on special career-oriented projects.
Before coming to Bryant, he was Senior Director of University Career Services at Georgia State University and, before that, Director of Career Development at the University of Nevada, Reno. He also is a counseling psychologist who has provided mental health services at college counseling centers, including the University of Nevada, Reno, and Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly UMR). He grew up in Malaysia, has worked in Indonesia, and has extensive international and intercultural experience.
Dr. Gaw earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara; an M.A. in Education from San José State University; and a B.A. in Anthropology and Southeast Asian Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Aside from running the day-to-day operations of the center, Yvonne Combies assists the director and assistant directors with marketing for various workshops, programs and career fairs. She also supervises work-study students.
She previously served as assistant to the head of Upper School at Moses Brown School, and worked at Providence Hebrew Day School, both in Providence, RI.
Yvonne attended Community College of Rhode Island.
Barbara Gregory, Associate Director, oversees our vibrant academic internship program, cosching students and advising faculty and employers. Previously she served students in the career development offices at Providence College and Brown University.
Barbara earned a Master of Education and Counseling at SUNY New Paltz and a Bachelor of Education with a minor in sociology at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY.
Denise Gormley, Internship Coordinator, assists students and employers in providing quality internships. Denise coordinates all aspects of experiential learning, assisting employers, student and faculty in the U.S. and abroad.
Previously, she was in the cable television industry in customer service. She holds an Associate's Degree in liberal arts from Community College of Rhode Island.
Lauren Cotnoir, Manager of Recruiting and Employer Relations, is responsible for the Recruiting Program and works closely with employers. She also offers workshops and provides career coaching to students.
Lauren previously was a University Relations Consultant in Talent Acquisition for State Street Bank in Boston.
She is a graduate of Providence College and completed the Career Counseling Facilitator Certification Program offered by the National Career Development Program.
Nancy Friel, Recruitment Coordinator, oversees the logistics of the Recruiting Program for postgraduate and internship placement, as well as the center’s three major career fairs. Nancy also serves as the point person for the department’s technology and Banner system.
Before coming to Bryant, Nancy worked in the accounting field in various capacities including accounting supervisor, controller, and cost accountant for high-end construction projects.
As Manager of Employer Outreach and Development, Pat Miernicki promotes Bryant University and its students to prospective employers, developing new opportunities for internships and full-time positions that meet students' diverse career interests.
Pat holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Public Administration with a minor in history and women’s studies from Long Island University. She has 15 years of experience as a development officer at Bryant and, previously, at Providence College.
Career Development Team
Veronica Mansour, Associate Director, leads our career development services and provides individual career coaching and programming for students. She previously worked at Salve Regina University and Rhode Island College, and remains active on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Career Development Association and on the ethics committee for the National Career Development Association.
Veronica has a master's degree in agency counseling with a background in mental health services.
Salome Miclette, Career Coach, works one-on-one with students and through career education programming, taking the lead on projects such as our Career Planning Course (CPC 101) and efforts to effectively reach and serve our students. She served previously as a Residence Life Area Director at Bryant and in a Professional Practicum role at the center.
Salome holds a Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel from the University of Rhode Island. She interned for one year at Connecticut College's Career Center.
